Rest in Peace, Bandit (you too, Pepper)

February 4th, 2010

Dad found Bandit in the woods one day on his way back from a hunt. He was just a pup, and seeing that he was in the middle of nowhere with no apparent mother or owner to care for him, Dad scooped him up and brough him home. He inherited the name Bandit from the recollection that my sister had of a dog from our childhood that ran away. I guess that made him a sort of reincarnated memory for us all, like he had some inherent nostalgia.

He was a great playmate for Pepper–the dog left behind by the previous owners of my parent’s house, who is also, as of recent and due to his age, no longer with us–and it is my own personal conclusion that Pepper’s death precipitated Bandit’s own passing, for Bandit sulked for weeks, ate almost nothing, and eventually wandered absent-mindedly into the road where he met his fate with a passing car.

We will miss these dogs.

Rest in peace, Bandit (you too, Pepper).

Here’s a lovely image of Jason posing at one of our weddings. He shoots fantastic 8mm videos for us, and we’re really excited about working with him more frequently this year.

The Longfields Beat the Rain

January 6th, 2010

A few months ago we donated a family portrait session to a Habitat for Humanity auction, and the Longfields won! We met them at the Grand Hotel in Fairhope on a day that was supposed to be relatively clear, but ended up pretty drizzly. They were all good sports, and we ended up with a lot of fun pictures with umbrellas.

York, PA [revisited]

December 20th, 2009

So, I finally got around to posting a few more images from our trip to York to visit Chris and Christi. We had a great time hanging out around town, going to the market, visiting the theater, and heading up to the Finger Lakes for a wine tour. Oh, and get a load of the size of that pancake griddle!

Annie in the Fall

December 18th, 2009

Annie in her fall clothes. You don’t get to bundle up in South Florida. You have to come all the way up to South Alabama to do that.

Jack

December 7th, 2009

During the Thanksgiving holidays, we had the opportunity to photograph lots of friends and family.  Our good friends came over Friday to watch the Iron Bowl and we snapped some fun pictures of their son Jack while he was playing outside.  Hope you enjoy.

Martina & Nic – November 11, 2009

December 1st, 2009

Martina and Nic first met in Japan. Martina was working as an English teacher and Nic as a helicopter pilot for the Air Force, and after falling in love Nic received orders to return to America (Dothan, AL). They decided to elope at a Japanese courthouse with a few friends as witnesses, and after returning to the states, they held a small ceremony on Pensacola Beach in Florida to exchange vows and bring their families together.

One of our favorite things about being wedding photographers is making new friends. It’s important to us to develop a relationship with our clients−for our images will become memories, and that is no small responsibility−and sometimes those relationships turn into friendships. We had a blast photographing Martina and Nic’s wedding, and we’re looking forward to visiting with them soon.

You may view the rest of their images here.
