Welcome to the world, Dalton!

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Wednesday, September 16th, I ventured up to the hospital to welcome baby Dalton Taylor to the big wide world.  My friends Amanda and Erik are now home with their first baby and everyone is doing well.  We always get to see so much emotion during weddings, and it was nice to see a whole different range of emotions in a family welcoming their new addition.  Congratulations, Amanda & Erik!  We wish you and baby Dalton all the happiness in the world.  Maybe you’ll all get some sleep sometime soon?  Happy baby adventures!

We’ve been working a lot with families lately, and because we love it so much Amy made this fantastic advertisement. Click here if for some reason you’d like to download the full-resolution document.

Markris Family

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with the Markris family. Shai is Mallory’s sister. You may remember Mallory from previous posts, for she is always bringing over cool equipment for us to play with, like the Mamiya 645 and her home-made lightbox for making our own gum prints.

Photographing families is one of our favorite things to do, and we have learned that spending a lot of time with our subjects is one of the best investments we can make toward the quality of our images. We have time to get to know the people we are photographing, and that allows us to create what we believe are more sincere and honest images that will have a much better chance of lasting a lifetime.
